Welcome to ConnectStar. We are committed to protecting your privacy while offering you a secure messaging platform and spiritual tools (Bible, Prayers). This policy explains how we handle your data in compliance with GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California) and the guidelines of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Key commitment: We never sell your personal data. Never. Your spiritual life and personal exchanges are sacred to us.
2. Data We Collect
Directly provided information
- •Account information: Phone number, display name, profile picture, email (optional)
- •Message content: Your messages, photos, videos, biblical notes, voice messages
- •Contact data: Address book (with your permission to invite friends)
Automatically collected information
- •Connection data: IP address, device type, operating system, unique device identifier
- •Usage data: Features used, session duration, group statistics (anonymised)
- •Location: Only if you explicitly allow it to share your location
Sensitive Data (Religion)
By participating in prayer groups or using biblical features, you may reveal your religious beliefs. By using these features, you explicitly consent to the processing of this data for the proper functioning of the community (in accordance with Article 9 of the GDPR).
3. End-to-End Encryption (E2E)
Maximum security for your communications
- ✓All messages (texts, photos, videos, files) are encrypted with industry standards
- ✓Only you and the recipient hold the decryption keys
- ✓ConnectStar cannot access the content of your messages
- ✓Private messages: Only the chosen recipient (end-to-end encrypted)
- ✓Groups: Members of the group you have joined (end-to-end encrypted)
4. Use of Data
Your data is used solely to:
- •Provide the service: Deliver your messages, manage your groups, store your favourite verses
- •Authentication: Verify your identity by SMS and maintain your account security
- •Improvement: Analyse (anonymised) usage to fix bugs and improve features
- •Communication: Send you security updates and important notifications
- •Legal compliance: Meet legal obligations, combat fraud
⚠️ We NEVER use your data to create advertising profiles, sell it, or share it with advertisers.
5. Sharing with Third Parties
Who can see your messages
- •Private messages: Only the chosen recipient (end-to-end encrypted)
- •Groups: Members of the group you have joined (end-to-end encrypted)
- •Public channels: Any ConnectStar user if you choose to post in a public channel
Sharing with providers
We share your information only in these cases:
- •Service providers: Hosting, technical support, payments (bound by confidentiality agreements)
- •Legal obligations: Court orders, government requests (with notification where legally possible)
- •Security: Reporting serious abuse, fraud or security threats
We never accept data requests without proper legal process and only comply when legally required.

7. Data Retention
- •Messages: Stored on your devices and our servers for as long as you wish, deletable at any time
- •Inactive account: After 12 months without login, your account may be deleted after notification
- •Legal data: Retained as long as necessary to comply with the law
- •Backups: Backups are kept for a maximum of 90 days after deletion
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
ConnectStar does not use advertising tracking cookies. We only use technical cookies to:
- •Keep your session authenticated
- •Remember your preferences (language, theme)
- •Analyse general app usage (anonymised)
You can disable non-essential cookies in the App settings.
9. Regulatory Compliance

ConnectStar operates with servers located in different countries. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other approved mechanisms to protect your data during international transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The date of the last update is at the top. Material changes will be notified to you by email or in-app notification.
